  Educational Podcasting Workshop

Podcasting is taking the internet by storm. For schools the possibilities are endless! It offers many educational benefits including school information management and
promotion.
Schools will be able to promote regular communications with existing and potential parents, with little technical or administrative investment.
Teachers will be able to provide homework, extension work and publicity, using text, audio and video.
Schools will be able to showcase special events (before or after) or talented students - Plays, Poetry, Concerts, Sporting events, Visits & Exchanges.

This workshop will:
• Explain what podcasting is and how it can help departments and schools
• Include instruction for audio and video podcasting
• Supply you with free software to create podcasts on the day
• Show you how to promote your podcasts to potential students/parents/clients

This course is suitable for any teacher of any subject, who is reasonably confident with a laptop [either PC or Mac, though specific software differs]. It does not have to be particularly technical as in school the less creative side can be completed by Technicians. If your laptop has wireless capabilities and can use the hotel wireless network [eg BTOpenzone] the final task of uploading your Podcast onto a website can
be achieved - this is not essential.
You do have to bring a laptop - this is a practical course. Bring any administrative passwords so that you can load software. You will be provided with a CD Rom of software and exemplars, and a guidebook.
