Using your whiteboard in the SEN department
The course that gives you everything you need to use your whiteboard to its full potential
Aims of the programme:
1.To provide the ideas and software you need to create engaging class activities that can be used with any brand of board.
2.To equip teachers with ready-made lesson materials for the whiteboard.
The course CD-Rom contains a wealth of digital resources to take back to your school:
• A selection of lessons for the Less Able on the interactive whiteboard
• A collection of essential utilities and software
• Links to some of the best websites in the world
• Images and backgrounds to use in your whiteboard lessons
• Follow up tutorials to remind delegates of all the activities learnt on the day
Please note most materials concern Literacy and Numeracy and are concerned with teaching pupils with learning difficulties rather than specific conditions like Aspergers Syndrome.

Session 2
• Lesson ideas and activities to add interactivity into your
SEN lessons: Here Mary demonstrates the numerous ways in which the whiteboard can be used to inject colour, movement, sound and greater interaction into your lessons. Many examples covering different curriculum areas (mostly Maths and English) are provided
• Using specialist software with the whiteboard:
Guidelines to help you choose software that works well with the whiteboard
• Hands-on session 2: Creating these lessons yourselves to develop experience in the use of an interactive whiteboard through hands-on practical exercises including: starters, puzzles, quizzes and games. |

• The Internet and how to use it effectively: The internet and the interactive whiteboard are perfect partners. Here Mary reviews some of the latest Internet technologies and demonstrates how to use them in your lessons.
