| "Boys Will Be Boys"
“Slugs and snails and puppy dogs’ tails….?”
• Adrift in life, failing at school
• Awkward in relationships
• At increased risk from alcohol and drugs
• By the age of 15 three times more likely than girls to die from accidents, violence or suicide
This course considers the most important issues in boys’ development and offers practical advice for teachers on tackling boys’ behavioural problems and supporting them in their work. It looks at the working of the male brain and considers ways in which we can actively improve on our communication and effectiveness in working with boys in the classroom.
The course aims are:
• To provide real insight into increasing our understanding and knowledge of boys
• To offer practical advice and suggestions as to how to use this understanding and knowledge in the classroom
• To provide detailed and informative notes that consolidate the work covered in the course
