Assemblies - June 2008

Assemblies will be presented as PowerPoint presentations with the accompanying Word document

"The information in the word documents is written, largely, in simple English which gives presenters the opportunity to stamp their own personality on the presentation and to adapt the information to their own speaking style."

"The PowerPoint slides, signified by the abbreviation Ppt and then followed by the relevant number, are designed to be displayed alongside the sections indicated."

"Regarding the follow-up sections, Further Reading, Viewing, Listening etc. This information is given for inclusion on the school website with pupils being told about its presence. It provides a great opportunity for them to learn more about the subject matter at the core of the assembly - the weblinks particularly providing rich sources of information."

Depending on your computer configuration, files might open in your browser window, if this occurs right click on download button and left click on 'Save Target As...'

Feel free to download any assembly you like and if you would like us to write an assembly on a particular topic then email Sara Lewis the operations manager sara.lewis@dragonfly-training.co.uk and we will get onto it straight away.

Jigsaw
(Added 30/6/08)

This story can have a Christian moral with the face of Jesus being revealed at the end, or it can be an anonymous face and therefore more about how people help us to understand the world.

White Cliffs
(Added 16/6/08)

This is a story about confusing the things we want with the things we need. You could hand this over to students to present and they could share the presentation by reading alternate paragraphs.

The Story Of The Sun And The Wind
(Added 9/6/08)

This is an old story (around 2,500 years old) and one whose meaning resonates as strongly as ever.  The assembly suits those teachers who love spinning out a yarn and who like adopting different attitudes or accents within a fictionalised text.  Otherwise, it’s a great one for getting four volunteer students; one each to play the sun, the wind, the man and the narrator.

The story of an Eskimodoc
(Added 2/6/08)

This is the story of an Eskimo who, around 50 years ago, was invited to travel back to the United States of America with an explorer to whom he had demonstrated great kindness whilst on an expedition.
