About this course

This course will meet the needs of aspiring leaders and those newly appointed to leadership positions. While the theme is leadership, our focus is on raising the standards of teaching and learning. We will examine the key ways of developing effective leadership styles, personas and approaches, and the management tools most likely to enhance school wide performance. We will examine the challenges of leadership and learn practical methods that will help you to be highly effective – and to stay sane! - over the short- and long-term.  

Course Outcomes:
  • Knowledge of proven leadership practices which significantly improve student outcomes and teacher performance.
  • The ability to lead your school/section with the necessary social and emotional intelligence to get the most out of yourself and your staff.
  • Real world examples and guidance on how to develop distributed leadership structures which result in manageable workloads and improved standards
