About this course

Do your staff need help with ideas to deliver exciting and engaging creative educational dance lessons?

Each day is bespoke to each individual school and educational establishment.

  • Schools decide which classes/ year groups/ Key Stages will be taught
  • Schools decide which teachers and teaching assistants will be observing and receiving CPD whilst the lessons are being taught
  • Choose from cross-curricular themes below for each lesson.

 

Early Years:

 

  • A Big Beast and Mini Beast Adventure
  • A Trip Around the World

 

 KS 1:

 

  • The Jungle Dance
  • The Great Fire of London

 

KS 2

 

  • A Journey Through the Rain Forest
  • The World of Sport
  • The History of Street and Break Dance
  • The Language of Dance – (Understanding the basics of choreography)

 

 KS 3

 

  • The World of Sport
  • The History of Street and Break Dance
  • The Language of Dance – (Understanding the basics of choreography)

 

 Each lesson will include the following:

  • Fun, creative, educational and high-quality dance lessons, which will fully engage pupils and inspire staff
  • Different ideas for warm-ups
  • Differentiated tasks - traffic light system
  • How to stretch the more able and keep them fully engaged
  • Cross-curricular themes (for example the Great Fire of London for Year 2)
  • Specific dance terminology taught and clear explanations and demonstrations given to both pupils and staff.

 

What schools will receive:

  • A pack of ideas based on the lessons that were delivered to help create your own dance schemes of work and teaching resources.

 

 

Additional information

  • Schools have permission to film Laura delivering the lessons to use for their own in-house CPD. Filming is not to be shared with any other school.
